2016 Wijaya Kusuma Contractors (WKC) completed the Indoferro Steel Factory. In 2013, they finished the Indocoke Coal Industry. These projects were essential for Indonesia's industrial growth.
In 2013, Indonesia's coal industry was strong because of the high global demand for energy and raw materials. Indonesia was one of the largest coal exporters in the world. The Indocoke facility was built to meet the growing need for coke, which is made from coal and essential for making steel and other materials. WKC had to ensure precise engineering and strong infrastructure for the Indocoke facility to support large-scale coke production.
By 2016, the global steel market had recovered, and Indonesia saw a boom in infrastructure projects, raising the demand for steel. The Indoferro Steel Factory was completed at this critical time to help meet the rising need for steel in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, especially in construction and manufacturing. WKC needed to build a facility that could support heavy machinery and produce high volumes of steel, making it a key player in Indonesia's industrial growth.
The history of these two projects shows how important Indocoke and Indoferro are and how WKC helped grow Indonesia’s coal and steel markets. Completing these projects during crucial times proved WKC’s ability to build extensive industrial facilities that matched the country’s economic needs, strengthening its position as a leading contractor in industrial construction.
